Moral excellence! Don't you love that? If everyone lived the definition of virtue, what a wonderful world this could be.
I love the new value that was added to the YW values recently. I think it is something that is definitely needed, and has been needed the last few years. What a wonderful thing to have divine inspiration from our Heavenly Father in these Latter-Days.
I loved the statement from the Young Women general presidency — Sister Elaine S. Dalton, Sister Mary N. Cook, and Sister Ann M. Dibb — regarding the addition of the value Virtue to the Young Women theme and how it will impact Personal Progress: "There has never been a more important time to understand and practice virtue. We call on each young woman to do her best in accepting and acting upon the value of Virtue. We promise that a young woman's life will be blessed, her family will be strengthened and her confidence will "wax strong" as she becomes pure and virtuous and prepares to assist in the great work of preparing the earth for the Savior's second coming."
Although this is geared towards the YW of the church, I feel as leaders, parents, & most importantly WOMEN of the church; we need to remember to be virtuous in word, conversation, deed, faith, thoughts, charity & purity. As the Mutual theme is for this new year. "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12
I know there are things I can work on to be a more virtuous daughter of my Heavenly Father. What does being virtuous mean to you?

What a wonderful and inspiring reminder of the one standard we have taught us...what makes me take heed is that we are taught in so many ways of its importance and I realise just how important it is in these last days to have it repeated so frequently.
I have a 12 yr old daughter who is going through a rough time right now, if she didn't hold on to 'virtue' then i'm sure she would be lost like many others out there.
If only we could show more people the blessings of keeping their eye of the 'virtue' goal.

I was looking through Modern Molly Mormon, and came upon your blog. I was a bit excited to read you are from Florida. My son will be arriving in Florida on Tues. (tears). I wanted to know more about Florida when he got his call there, So...I watched CSI Miami. Hmmm...the only advise I had to offer about Florida was, "watch out for the Russian Mafia". HAHAHAHA. I'm sure it's beautiful, and he will love being there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Virtue. Lovely!!
