So for about two years now I've been wanting to get salsa, chili sauce & tomatoes canned again. I haven't done any canning since we moved to Florida.
Today I finally got a good start on it. I made & canned chili sauce. I got 21 pints and 5 quarts. SOOO HAPPY! This morning Greg, Jaycee & I went to Sarasota to Fruitville Market and got tomatoes, more fruit and YUMMY Key Lime pie.
We got home around 1:30, so I got started with the tomatoes and just finished about 30 minutes ago. I know I'm a nerd, but I love the look of the mason jars when it is all finished. Feel like I'm actually productive and accomplished something good. Don't feel like that most days.

You're my hero! I would love to be able to do that stuff, and no, you're not a nerd, I AM, for not knowing how.
It is really not hard. Just time consuming. I only have Saturday's to do this stuff. But it is sooo worth it.
You can come over when I do salsa..I can teach ya. My Mom & Greg's Mom had to teach me..Not hard at all, just a lot of work.
Now for the last step to the mission... give some to us! LOL! That is cool tht you like to can. I grew up with huge gardens and mom and Nannie canning everything under the sun. Seeing those pics brought back lots of memories of the good ole days.
I LOVE to can!! I'm with you...nothing is so pretty as Mason jars in the pantry with all kinds of yumminess inside! (is that a word?? My spell check says no, but I say YES)LOL

You are not a nerd. I did freezer strawberry jam the other day and took a picture of the jars all done too. It's one of my favorite. You go girl!
